Islamic Fall Retreat Milwaukee 2005

Aha I am back~!!!!!!!!!!
This time I want to show some images I took from IFR. This is the first big event we, Malaysian students living in Milwaukee, had to handle. I can quite say it is big because there are more than 20 people coming to our program. Haha that is a big number right? 
So the participants are our nice folks coming from Madison, UIUC, IUB, Northwestern and Purdue. Our guest speaker are awesome~!!! Dr. Jimoud, principle of Salam School, and his wife, Dr. Jamilah Kolocotronis (can you pronounce it?) and our favorite one, Syeikh Ziyad, imam of Milwaukee Islamic Center. Great speakers. Outstanding speeches. Just the one is supposed to record the speech, which is me, is the bad one~! huhu terrible me (I should get the Creative Nuvo mp3 player cum audio recorder sooner)
Who handled the event? We, the committee members, consisted of 8 people, minus one who was not present on the day. So divide 21 by 7 = 3 participants/committee ratio. Not a bad number. Yeah, we can still make it happen. Good job, everybody~!!
I mean we handled it accordingly. Yes there were a few problems. We started late, like 10.15 as opposed to 9.30 am. Some guys headed to out initial location (before we change it to UWM) which is bad because they were supposed to head to UWM and not my house *hides my face away*. But Alhamdulillah Allah granted me a good idea, which is to post a notification in front of the front door so all the guys who arrived at my house could hint where to go. I am really sorry for the folks from Purdue and Northwestern. Terrible me, again. As the promotional officer, I am supposed to tell them earlier our final location, and not the day of the event.
The event was literally ended at 4.00 pm where there was no more speech or anything related to the event, technically. But just to have some fun, we brought these people to view our picturesque Great Lake from a very charming, pleasing place, far north of Milwaukee city. It was great, Subhanallah. Everybody was having fun, Masya Allah.
The iftar one was great too. We, Khir, Faizi, Ansari, Hazlan, and I, arrived late from Marquette, but we still made it to the iftar. We did not have to worry really. Because there were tons of foods, chicken briyani, salads, Oreo pudding made by Abg Man, and fruits, enough to feed three times the number of us coming that day. Masya Allah. Of course we could not finished all the food yet we did not want to waste it away, so we gave some of the food to those folks, let them took it home.
Alhamdulillah, though not perfect, the event was going great. Everybody enjoyed it. And we gonna miss each other again. Thanks minna-san~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tahnk you very much~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
